Winter League Information - 2006 Season Summary

Monday, Nov. 27 2:45 PM There were seven golfers on the last official Monday of the Winter League with eight meeting for dinner at Blake's Seafood in Crocker Park. There were two skins awarded to none other than Jimmy Connelly and Dave Martens. So that will officially do it for the Winter League season of 2006. Plans are still in the works for our annual Christmas Dinner party!



Monday, Nov. 20 2:50 PM Hilliard Lakes was closed on this cold and nasty evening but six showed for dinner at M Bistro.



Monday, Nov. 13 3:00 PM Only three golfers braved cold conditions with temperatures in the 40's. There were a total of four skins all won by the Connelly brothers; Tom had three with his older brother Jim winning one. Five showed up at the Winking Lizard for some Monday night dinner and cheer.

Monday, Nov. 6 3:10 PM Six golfers played the back nine on this very pleasant early November evening at Hilliard Lakes with all gathering at the Savannah upon the round's completion. All of the skins were won with scores of par: Dave Martens #'s 13 and 15; Jim Sweeney #14 and John Duda #17.



Monday, Oct. 30 3:30 PM Eight golfers played on this warm October evening with seven making it over to the Savannah where most of the Monday night regulars were clad in Halloween costumes. Two skins were won, one by Brian Cook who netted a par on #1 and one by Dave Martens who did the same on #4.



Monday, Oct. 23 4:00 PM It was cold, snowy and wet cancelling this week's Winter League round. Hilliard Lakes was closed, but the Savannah was alive and well, where five showed up for some dinner and cheer. Stay Warm!



Monday, Oct. 16 4:15 PM Seven golfers came to play on this cloudy and later drizzling evening. We had eight at the Savannah. There were five skins won by Jimmy Connelly (2), John Duda (2), and Jim Sweeney. Please take note of the earlier tee-time next Monday.



Monday, Oct. 9 4:20 PM There were twelve golfers on this beautiful October evening with eleven making it over to Savannah. The only skin went to Greg Oster who had a par on Hole #4. It was worth $60.00. It's set in stone; Myrtle Beach will happen in mid-April '07.



Monday, Oct. 2 4:30 PM There were nine golfers with ten showing up at the Savannah on this pleasant evening. The course was soggy and downright wet in many areas. There were five skins, one each by Jimmy Connelly, Mike Howell, Dave Martens, Steve Famiano and Tommy Connelly. Dave and Mike won their skins with natural birdies on Nos. 1 and 8 respectively. Plans continue for Myrtle Beach which may now happen in March '07.



Monday, Sep. 25 4:30 PM Nine golfers showed on this very sunny and cool evening with all coming to Savannah for comaraderie and cheer. There were five skins. Winners were Tom Connelly, Mike Howell, Jimmy Connelly and two by Jim Sweeney. Final arrangements are being made for the golf trip to Myrtle Beach in April '07. Let us know next week if you are serious about going.



Monday, Sep. 18 4:45 PM We had seven golfers on this rainy and wet night with ten showing up at Savannah. There were two skins worth $17.50 each. Jim Connelly had a bogey on #11 and Dan O'Grady had a birdie on #12.



Monday, Sep. 11 5:00 PM Nobody filed an official winter league report, but I heard through the grapevine that St. Bernadette defeated St. Angela in the showdown.
