Winter League Information - 2018 Season Summary

The Winter League Christmas Party was held at 6:00 PM at The Ironwood Cafe on Monday, December 3rd.
We had a great meal, entertainment and a great time!

December 3, 2018. The Winter League group seated for dinner!

Monday, November 26 2:15 PM No golf again. The weather was miserable. 11 guys had a great time at The Ironwood. The investment club went large and went good on our last investment.

Monday, November 19 2:15 PM There was no golf due to poor weather but we had 11 guys show up at The Ironwood Cafe. After a close vote, the Investment Club eeked out a tie!

November 19, 2018. Several members brought "expensive" gifts for the president's daughter.

Monday, November 12 2:30 PM Hilliard Lakes closed for the season. Dave Martens played at Bob-O-Links. He did NOT win the closest to to the pin prize, BUT he did win all of the skins! Congratulations Dave! We had 9 or 10 guys at The Ironwood and the Investment Club decided to lay low.

Monday, November 5 2:30 PM I hear that guys played and had a great time although no official report was filed. The Investment Club layed low!

Monday, October 29 3:30 PM We had four golfers and nine guys at the Ironwood Cafe. Nobody hit the green on Number 15. There were two skins, one each for Dave Martens and Mike Eyerman. Winners were throwing their money into the kitty left and right. Why some people even threw in their lottery winnings. Yes, all of that AND the Investment Club came through by picking a winner! Life is good! NOTE: Daylight Savings Time will be over next week.

Monday, October 22 3:45 PM Nine guys played golf. Closest to the pin on Number 5 was won by Dave Skok. There were three skins, one each by Dave Skok, Dan O'Grady and Andy Trutza. Thanks to all of you for your generosity to the kitty. A couple extra guys showed up at the Ironwood Cafe, and the Investment Club tanked again!

Monday, October 15 3:45 PM The golf course was closed and the weather was not that great. Ten guys still met at The Ironwood Cafe for dinner and discussion. The investment club made a decision to keep our "recurring weekly" investment in place for four more weeks. The club also made two other investment choices for the night. Neither one worked out. Oops!

Monday, October 8 4:00 PM Report filed by Dave Martens: On a gorgeous day, the winter league had 14 golfers shooting the lights out at Lil Augusta. This led to some nice scores which produced 3 skins, 1 for Dan O'Grady, 1 for Jeff Burke and of course 1 for Dave Martens. Closest to the pin was won by Dave Skok. Almost all the skin money was donated back to the Kitty. We also had 15 guys at the Ironwood who once again voted correctly on our Monday night investment. With the Browns winning on Sunday the kitty is growing nicely. Hope to see everyone on Monday. Bring your long pants and warm sweaters.

Jim Sweeney won Closest to the Pin on #15 and there were five skins, one each by Dan Galmarini, Dave Martens, Mike Howell, Dan O'Grady and Joe Sweeney. All of the winners gave everything back to the kitty! Thanks! The Investment Club made a good decision but our recurring investment "went south" on Sunday.

Monday, September 24 4:00 PM The weather was threatening but 5 golfers played. Nobody hit the green on Number 5 and there were three skins, two for Jim Sweeney and one for Glen Peterson. Glen deserves a lot of credit for donating his money back to the kitty! (So did Jim). We had 12 guys at The Ironwood and the investment club made a good decision! We're rolling!

Monday, September 17 3:30 PM The annual match between St. Bernadette and St. Angela was played and we won! I am not aware of any other Winter League golf but I know that some people went to the Ironwood Cafe and the Investment Club made a wise choice.

Monday, September 10 3:45 PM The course was closed because of much rain. No golf! The match between St. Angela and St. Bernadette was re-scheduled for next week.

Monday, August 27 4:30 PM We had 12 golfers on a great night to kick off the Winter League Season. One other member joined us at the Ironwood Cafe. Tom Weaver won Closest to the Pin on #15 and there were five skins, three for Dave Michael, one for Joe Sweeney and one for Tom Weaver. All of the winners gave everything back to the kitty! Thanks! That was a good way to start the year. The Investment Club made a "significant" decision to support the Cleveland Browns for each of the first six weeks of the season. Other investments will be considered each week.

August 27, 2018. The Winter League Season begins and we posed near the most disobeyed sign on earth! Joe Sweeney, Mike Eyerman, Andy Trutza, Dave Michael, Jim Sweeney, Dave Martens and Tom Weaver are happy and ready to go.
