Winter League Information - 2020 Season Summary

Monday, November 30 2:00 PM Sunset is at 4:59 PM. We will play at Creekwood Golf Club.

Monday, November 23 2:00 PM Nobody golfed. We had four good looking and highly intelligent members show up at the Ironwood Cafe. Naturally, they picked a winner for the Investment Club.

Monday, November 16 2:15 PM Nobody played golf but seven guys met at the Ironwood Cafe. We had fun as always, we had a great meal, AND the investment club made a WINNING decision!

Monday, November 9 2:30 PM We had 11 golfers and a nice turnout at the Ironwood Cafe. Jay Geib won closest to the pin on Number 4 and there were three skins, one for Dan O'Grady and two for Dan Martello. The investment club had a lively debate but our win streak is over. We'll start again next week!

Monday, November 2 2:30 PM Nobody played golf tonight. Are we getting old and weak? We had a small (and fun) group of six at the Ironwood Cafe. The investment club is on a roll! Let's hope we can keep it up.

Monday, October 26 3:30 PM Another bad weather day and another good investment day.

Monday, October 19 3:45 PM The weather was bad. It was cold and rained all day. Six troopers showed up at the Ironwood Cafe to have dinner and fun. The investment club made THREE winning investments thanks to Presidential wisdom (Summer and Winter presidents), Crazy recklessness (Winter president) and our "phone-a-friend" tie breaker guy! (He sometimes wins a long drive contest in the summer but he never wins a "Winter League Skin". I think I'll call a wambulance for him.)

Monday, October 12 3:45 PM We had 15 golfers. The course was in good shape but is shutting down for the season for extensive maintenance. This was our last round at our home course. We'll be playing at Bob-O-Link for the rest of the season. Dave Skok won closest to the pin on Number 5. There were three skins, one each for Mike Brezina, Mike Eyerman and Dave Michael.
The good news: In the future, we will always get the back room at the Ironwood Cafe. No longer will we be relegated to "The Rounds".
The bad news: The investment club lost again!

Monday, October 5 4:00 PM We had 12 golfers on a nice weather night. Tim Coyne won the prize for closest to the pin on Number 15. There were five skins, three for Dan Galmarini and one each for Tim Coyne and Mike Howell. The investment club is "off the schneid". We held a secret ballot and made a winning investment!

Monday, September 28 4:00 PM There were 8 golfers but not everyone finished because of bad weather. Jim Sweeney won the closest to the pin award on Number 5 (a regular occurence). There were two skins, one for Jim Sweeney and one for Dan O'Grady. The investment club made ANOTHER bad choice!

Monday, September 21 4:00 PM It was a perfect night for golf. We had fourteen golfers and a nice turn out at the Ironwood Cafe. It was good to be in the back room. Jim Sweeney won the closest to the pin award on Number 15. There were three skins, one each for Tim Coyne, Tim Spurrier and Jim Sweeney. The investment club had some heated debate and made a bad choice! We need Cookie and Jaybird to rescue us!

Monday, September 14 3:45 PM The annual match between St. Bernadette and St. Angela was played and we lost. Seven other Winter League golfers played and paid. No scorecards were turned in so all the money went into the kitty where it quickly evaporated because of a bad decision made by the investment club!

Monday, August 31 4:30 PM We had GREAT weather for our opening night. Seventeen guys played and another member joined for dinner at The Ironwood. Tim Spurrier won closest to the pin on Number 15 and there was only one skin! Andy Trutza had a Net 3 on Number 11. It was nice to be back together again! New rules for prizes, donations etc. were well received and went into effect! Good Luck to everyone for a fun and successful season!
